Question : Add vectors A, B and C each having magnitude of 100 unit and inclined to the x-axis at angles 45°, 135° and 315° respectively.
Doubt by Muskan
Solution :
A = B = C = 100 units

From the figure, it is clear that B and C vectors are both opposite to each other i.e. they have opposite directions. It is also given that both have equal magnitude. So both will cancel out each other and their resultant will be zero.
B + C = 0
So,
R = A + B + C
R = A
So,
R = A + B + C
R = A
Hence, the resultant vector of all three vectors is equal to A vector i.e. resultant has a magnitude of 100 units and it is making a angle of 45° with the positive direction of x-axis.
