A spring of force constant K is cut into five . . .

Question : A spring of force constant K is cut into five equal pieces. Calculate force constant of each part.

Doubt by Sanskriti

Solution :

We know,
For a Uniform Spring
KL = constant
K=constant / L
K∝1/L

L'=L/5
then
K'=5K

So if the spring is cut in 5 equal pieces then the force constant of each part would become 5 times the original spring constant.

(2) k/n
(3) no force will act.
